My Philosophy
Communication
I believe that stories are one of the most effective ways to convey meaning. When we use stories intelligently and flexibly, we can gain and share perspectives and develop new understandings of, and for, ourselves and others. We shouldn’t hold on too tightly to stories but we can admire their beauty – holding them loosely, as one would hold a butterfly.
Being present
I believe that presence is one of the greatest capacities an individual can develop. Being present is to be in full contact with this moment, right now, attentionally and sensually. I am committed to growing in presence daily so that I am able to hold space for myself and others.
Meditation
I believe that meditation is a powerful way to achieve presence. I am committed to cultivating my meditation practice, and teaching and inspiring others to do the same.
Relating
I believe that our bodies are wise. When we listen deeply to our bodies with self-compassion, we enhance our awareness and capacity to allow and accept. Through relating better with ourselves, we are better able to relate to others with more openness, curiosity, and compassion.
Letting Go
I believe that letting go creates a sense of personal freedom. Letting go of mental ruminations of the past and future, and fully surrendering to something greater than just our own brains helps create the conditions for self-realisation.
Joy
I believe that a world without laughter is – well – a nightmare!
